Prerequisite(s): High School cumulative GPA 2.0 - 2.49 OR GED Test score 145-154 OR ACT Writing score 0-14 AND ACT Reading score 0-13 OR SAT Writing score 0-360 AND SAT Reading score 0-350 OR ACCUPLACER Writing score 200-236 AND ACCUPLACER Reading score 200-236. * Concurrent enrollment in ENGL 090 - Basic English required. NOTE: Reading and Writing scores valid for 3 years.
This course is designed to support the writing process for English Language Learners (ELL) concurrently enrolled in ENGL 090 - Basic English . This course assists with students’ understanding of ENGL 090 - Basic English assignments while guiding them through sentence composition, paragraph, and essay composing processes, formal vocabulary building, grammar basics, punctuation, editing techniques, and presentation basics. This course is for English Language Learners (ELL) only. A grade of C or higher is required to enroll in ENGL 101 English I
