PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The course in Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) is designed for students interested in advancing their skills of providing care to patients in the pre-hospital setting. It will provide the student with opportunities to gain information,skills, and attitudes necessary for certification and practice as an AEMT in the state of Kansas. This course addresses information and techniques currently considered to be the responsibilities of the AEMT according to the U.S. Dept. of Transportation, National Standard Curriculum and the Kansas Statutes Authorized Activities for AEMT. This course will consist of a minimum of 180 clock hours. It will consist of didactic/online instruction, psycho motor skills training and field/clinical observation and instruction.
