PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Associate in Applied Science in Automotive Technology is a program that offers students the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the workforce in a variety of automotive fields or continue their education at a four-year program. These learning opportunities encourage students to develop foundations in academic, technical, and professional skills required for job placement, retention, and advancement within the industry. The program emphasizes a curriculum in automotive mechanical theory and practical applications necessary for skillful employment. Students can determine their goals and the faculty at GCCC assist each student in developing a plan to attain them. This credential fulfills the College’s mission of developing skills in communication and problem solving while promoting a strong work ethic. The semester-by-semester plans described below are general guidance. Students should work closely with their academic advisors to develop a plan that best meets their own individual needs and goals.
