PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Computer Support Specialist Certificate in Computer Information Systems is a program that provides an excellent starting point for individuals who wish to pursue a career in the Information Systems industry. Technical and communication areas of training include the development of skills in hardware, software, networking, written communication, verbal communication, and problem-solving. The completed program prepares students for the industry-recognized CompTIA A+ certification exam to join the computer support workforce or to continue their education. This credential fulfills the College’s mission of developing skills in communication and problem solving while promoting a strong work ethic. The semester-by-semester plans described below are general guidelines. Students should work closely with their academic advisors to develop a plan that best meets their own individual needs and goals.
