FIRE 204 - Fire Instructor I

Prerequisite(s): FIRE 102 - Firefighter II minimum grade C.
This course prepares students for the student practical exam that is based on the NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instruction Professional Qualifications. Students who achieve a minimum of 70% on the exam will receive national certification to become Fire Service Instructors. This course will provide a student with the basic knowledge and skills to deliver instruction effectively from a prepared lesson plan, including operating instructional aids, using evaluation instruments, reviewing and adopting lesson plans to maximize student learning, organizing the learning environment and maintaining records.
