ENGL 220 - Introduction to Shakespeare

Prerequisite(s): Place out of or successfully complete developmental reading and writing courses OR instructor permission.
In this introductory course, students will read and explore six to eight plays and Shakespeare’s poetry, situating them in their literary, social, and historical contexts. While the course will emphasize close readings of the literary texts, it will also explore their interpretation as stage and/or film performances. Course offered even Spring semesters.
