Prerequisite(s): BIOL 210 Anatomy and Physiology T> OR BIOL 211 Anatomy and Physiology I T> AND BIOL 212 Anatomy and Physiology II T> This course introduces the fundamental changes in body physiology that occur as a result of disease. Topics include basic cell biology, inflammation, mechanisms of body defense, selected body systems, and common disorders. Emphasis is placed on understanding disease processes, their manifestations, and available treatments. The course provides practical and applicable information for health professionals that can be used in clinical or laboratory settings, while also serving as a foundational requirement for the study of pathophysiology.
