This is a comprehensive course in nutrients, digestive systems, energy sources, protein sources, additives, animal requirements and formulation procedures in the animal feeding industry. This is an upper-level course with specific topics of nutrition, management and forming rations. This course will help students become more familiar with the terminology, principles and requirements of farm animals as well as the differences between ruminant and non-ruminant digestive systems and the differences between enzymatic and bacterial digestion.
