Prerequisite(s): Students must be a sophomore and have completed at least 15 hours of Criminal Justice coursework, including CRIM 101 Introduction to Criminal JusticeCRIM 103 Criminal LawCRIM 111 Criminal InvestigationCRIM 120 Criminal Justice Interviewing. This course is conducted under the direct supervision of the Department of Public Safety instructors. Students will apply knowledge and skills to certain simulated police operations and crime scene investigations that include police administration, records keeping, criminal investigation, rules of evidence, and 4th Amendment application. Students will learn about first responder stress and mental health as well as First Aid/CPR skills.
