ARTS 2113 - Figure Drawing 3 Hour(s)
Prerequisite(s): ARTS 101 - Drawing I T> /ARTS 1013 - Drawing I T> minimum grade C. Intensive drawing of the human figure as an element of composition. Building on the fundamental frameworks introduced in Drawing I, this course will explore techniques in various media to reinforce foundational techniques and develop a visual language in drawing the human form. The class will intensely explore the human figure as subject to gain further knowledge of anatomy and different modes of self-expression. The class will engage through targeted projects and assignments that allows students to work with conceptual ideas. The course will also examine diverse examples of figurative works from art history and the contemporary art scene to explore various theoretical and historical topics in order to expand the student’s perspective. *Requires two contact hours per week for each credit hour.
