Prerequisite(s): High School cumulative GPA >= 3.25 and B- or higher in second semester Algebra 2 or Integrated Math 3 OR GED Math score 165 or above OR ACT Math score 22 or above OR SAT Math score 540 or above OR ACCUPLACER QR/Algebra score 263-300* OR concurrent enrollment in MATH 008 College Algebra Companion  . *If ACCUPLACER score is 274 or higher, student may request to take Advanced Algebra and Functions test. Note: Math test scores valid for 3 years.
This course is a foundation course for advanced study in mathematics, business, and the sciences. It requires adequate mastery of basic algebraic manipulations. This course is a survey of topics including functions and their graphs, polynomials and rational functions, logarithms and exponential functions and systems of equations. Students are required to use appropriate technology.
