The Associate in Liberal Arts & Sciences, General degree is intended to recognize the attainment of a broad general education at the lower-division level. This degree is designed to provide students the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, attitudes and greater philosophical appreciation for lifelong learning. Transfer students will need to complete additional lower-division courses at transfer universities. Developmental courses will not count toward fulfilling degree requirements. Official transcripts must be on file in the Registrar’s Office to receive credit for transfer courses toward graduation. Students must complete a minimum of fifteen (15) credit hours at Garden City Community College (GCCC) to receive a degree.
Students will follow the guidelines of the catalog in effect at initial enrollment, provided they remain continuously enrolled. If a semester is skipped, students will follow guidelines of catalog in effect when they returned.
The Associate in General Studies degree will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of a planned program of not less than sixty (60) college credits and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 including the following distribution of credits:
